REGIONAL SHOWCASE w/ Emma Carter

Wednesday was a very busy day for my family, the Jay Stone Singers. We were the first group to sing on the Regional Showcase this morning. We sang my song, “Be Thou My Vision.” It was really fun to get to be the first ones to sing.

After the showcase we went to an interview with Mr. Paul Heil, of The Gospel Greats, a very popular syndicated radio program. I’ve never been one to like interviews, but this one was pretty fun.

Another group that sang on the showcase are some new friends of ours from Northern Ireland. Yes, you read that right. It’s so cool to hear them talk! They are the first act from outside the United States to sign with a major American Southern Gospel company. That record company just happens to be the same company my family records with: Crossroads Music.

When asked what the Gospel nusic industry is like in Ireland they said, “There is a good following, but you can’t make a living out of it. Praise-and-worship is very big there.”

Andrew’s testimony about how God saved him from drugs and alcohol abuse makes it easy for them to relate to young people who are struggling with the same issues. David said, “We go into churches where most people wouldn’t go and minister to young people who need to know about our Savior.”

These men have such sweet spirits and GREAT accents!!

Jason Crabb was the emcee for the evening concert. He is one of my favorite singers. There were many great performances tonight from groups such as Tribute Quartet, and The Perrys. The Perrys sang, “I Wish I Could Have Been There.”

They did three encores and received a standing ovation. Wow! That’s good stuff right there.

Our very dear friends High Road were chosen from the showcase that morning to sing on the main stage! They took the stage right after Ernie Haase and Signature Sound. No pressure there!!!

It was so awesome to see them up there playing their instruments and singing. They did fantastic and Jason Crabb (who was right in front of me) seemed to love them as well.

It was the highlight of my day for sure!
