GAITHER SING-A-LONG w/ Emma Carter

In the world of Southern Gospel Music, it doesn’t get much better than a Gaither sing-a-long! That is exactly what took place on Friday afternoon in Freedom Hall. It was a really cool experience.

I’ve watched many Gaither videos in my life, but there is nothing that compares to experiencing it live.

There was a stage full of the best Southern Gospel singers around, all singing together. It was so fun! Although, I was sitting way up at the top of the arena I had my super long camera lens so, I happened to catch some great pictures!

The evening concert had a killer line up on Friday night!

Karen Peck and New River, Ernie Haase and Signature Sound, and the Gaither Vocal Band took the stage. My graceful self was on the floor, right at the stage, the whole time taking pictures. It's hard to find a seat on Friday night of NQC, especially when big time groups like that are on stage!

Meanwhile out in the parking lot…

That evening around six o’ clock, while the parents were taking care of business inside of Freedom Hall, the next generation had an agenda all their own.

Stone and some of his buddies set up their instruments on our bus and jammed out until about ten o’ clock that night.

Now, we have a good sized bus when the sides are out, but imagine a full set of drums, three guitars, amps, speakers and sound board all set up in that space. It was super crowded in there, but they had so much fun!

I asked some of the guys what they plan on doing with their future and such.

Matthew Gooch, who is Karen Peck Gooch's son, has become one of Stone's best friends. "My plans are to continue the legacy my mom lives and go into Christian Contemporary music."

I also talked with Michael Booth's son, Christian. I asked him if he wanted to travel any in the future. "Yes. I want to travel with my friends Brice, Matt, Stone, and Spencer.

Lastly I ask Brice, the son of Brian Free, what he misses most about traveling with his Dad, "I really miss getting to go places and see new things... and the truck stop snacks!"

The future is looking bright for these guys!
