CHRISTMAS IN SEPTEMBER w/ Emma Carter

On Tuesday morning of NQC we went to breakfast with some sweet friends that we met here about ten or eleven years ago, I was around four or five years old. My brother Stone and I wanted to get in the pool at our hotel. Stone started throwing the football with Mr. Gingerich, and we have been very good friends ever since. Every year since then Mr. and Mrs. Gingerich leave money for Stone and I to get ice cream from the food court in the exhibit hall. Yummy!

After breakfast my friend Haley and I went into the showcases where my good friends The Shirley’s sang. As we entered the lobby I couldn’t help but notice the Christmas decorations.

There were huge jingle bells, Christmas trees, and sleighs filled with presents everywhere. When the exhibit hall opened at four o’clock, there were carolers in period costume walking around singing Christmas carols. It turns out it was “Christmas In September at NQC.”

I knew this was going to be a good day because Christmas is my favorite time of year! All throughout the day there were Christmas-themed events.

In the line up for the evening concert there were a couple of special appearances.

(PLATE 5) THE CRABB FAMILY.

(PLATE 6) Me and Adam Crabb.

The first was a reunion of some of the Crabb Family siblings. Jason, Adam, Kelly and Terah came together and sang “Through the Fire.” The audience was thrilled to see this talented family come together again. Later in the evening the legendary Hinsons took the stage. The group consisted of brothers Ronnie and Larry (who were original members of the Hinsons), Ronnie’s son Bo (who sang with them from 1984-1988) and Chris Freeman (who took their sister Yvonne’s place from 1974-1979).

The audience was on their feet as the group sang their hit song, “The Lighthouse.”

The evening concert ended with a Christmas finale. It was such a cool idea and I loved everything about it.

The Crist Family started the finale out with a new song from their brand new Christmas album “Timeless.” As the Christmas story was narrated between each song, Greater Vision sang, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!”

Many other groups, like the Talley’s, The Hoppers, and Triumphant Quartet, sang carols throughout the finale. It truly put a smile on my face!
