LAST DAY OF NQC 2011 w/ Emma Carter

It's the last day! NQC 2011 has come to an end way too quickly.

Saturday afternoon we sang in another showcase. It was very different than the regular showcases during the week. There were only 20 groups chosen to sing and after each group sang their song, there were three judges that critiqued us on our song and stage presence.

If you ask me it was very nerve-racking, but a great learning experience at the same time.

The judges were three of the industry’s most respected vocal and production specialists. We got really good feedback from the judges, they said really nice things about our performance. I really enjoyed the experience, and I hope we get to do it again next year.

The rest of the day was pretty simple.

Something unique they did this year was to bring some of the oldest family names back to the main stage. Throughout the week there were some legendary singers on the main stage.

The Hinsons, and the Rambos were two of them. On Saturday night my good friend, Anna Grace Kimbrough (of High Road) got to play the violin with The Rambos on main stage!

How cool! They sang several of Dottie Rambos hit songs. Mr. Buck Rambo was there too. They did an amazing job, and so did Anna Grace. It was so awesome to see her up there playing.

I personally felt like a proud baby sister.

The last day of NQC is usually very bittersweet for me. I'm always sad to leave, but ready to head back home. Not this year! I got really sad when we left this time.

I made so many awesome friends, but I waited a little late to make them. It was Saturday, the last day, before I decided to hang out with friends! How silly is that? I guess you could say I'm a little bit shy. I was very sure to cherish the moments I had left with my friends. Lots of hugs and goodbyes filled the evening.

I can't wait till next time!
