THE TORCHMEN RECEIVE 2012 COVENANT AWARD FOR SOUTHERN GOSPEL ALBUM OF THE YEAR

St. Catharines, Ontario (November 28, 2012) - The Torchmen Quartet from St. Catharines, Ontario were please to accept the 2012 Covenant Award for Southern Gospel Album of the Year at the recent Gospel Music Association Canada event held in Burlington, Ontario. The nominated recording, Step Up, was arranged by Roger Talley and features songwriters Rodney Griffin, Jim Brady, Dave Randall and Richard Ash.
The Southern Ontario male quartet were also nominated for Southern Gospel Song of the Year for their song, "We Sing About A Saviour", written by former member Dave Randall.

”Even though we do what we do to serve the Lord and touch people for Him with our music and words, it is appreciated to be recognized for all the time and work we put in to produce a product,” said Mike Moran, The Torchmen’s manager and baritone singer. “We just pray the Lord will continue to use our products to lift up His name. I wish I had the space to tell you some of the letters and comments we have received over the years from people that the Lord has blessed through our music. We are grateful for the privilege of singing for Him.”

The Gospel Music Association of Canada partnered with Crossroads Television System (CTS) for GMA Canada Week 2012 and the 34th Annual Covenant Awards held at the Crossroads Centre in Burlington and broadcast later on CTS. GMA Canada Week ran from November 4 through 7, 2012, featuring concerts, workshops, showcases and the Covenant Awards. More information on GMA Canada can be found at http://www.gmacanada.ca/ .

The Torchmen Quartet have been singing for over 40 years, becoming Canada’s premier Southern Gospel Quartet and raveling across North America. The Grammy-nominated Torchmen Quartet have been recipients of numerous awards, including the 2010 Covenant Award for Southern Gospel Song Of The Year and the 2007 Southern Gospel Album Of The Year. Current group members include Mike Moran, Jon Hisey, Sandy McGregor and Jeff Tritton. More information on The Torchmen Quartet can be found at http://www.torchqt.com/ .

TAJ ROHR NEWS

Wow! It’s hard to believe that October is here. It is such a beautiful time of year here in Nashville. The days are filled with sunshine and the nights are cool enough for a bonfire. I’m so excited to get back in the swing and be starting the ministry up again. Thank you all for the continued support!

The BRAND NEW SINGLE will be going out to national radio this week. It is from my latest CD , “It’s Time!” and the title is “How Much Longer.“ I think this song is such a timely song that truly asks the question that we all need to answer! So many times we get caught up in business, money, fame, etc…like the little intercessor told me as I was growing up in the Mid Ohio Valley…”only those things that last eternal will matter.” When I think about that, there is only one thing that comes to my mind, people. I believe this great song written by John Darin Rowsey and Gina Vera is very timely and appropriate for America and the world today. My goal is to get this very timely question to all people. Many times we wait upon the Lord but when it comes to the decision as to following Him, He is waiting on us. Time is short and eternity near. I really feel people will be blessed, encouraged and uplifted through it.

Keep in touch with us by adding our Facebook page and checking the website often! I appreciate you, love you with the love of Christ, and am praying for you!

Blessings,
Taj Z. Rohr

RAMBOS — Consisting of singer-songwriter, Dottie Rambo, her husband Buck, and their daughter Reba, the Rambos' first big hit came in 1967 with He Looked Beyond My Faults. Sung to the tune Londonary Aire (Danny Boy), the words were written by Dottie.

The Rambos, known originally as the Gospel Echoes, were most active during the 1960s and '70s, and were the first gospel group to entertain American troops in Vietnam.
