(PLATE 1) My dad, Bobby Carter, preaching. LAST NIGHT Branson Gospel Music Revival w/ Emma Carter Well today is the final day of Branson Gospel Music Revival 2011. We began our day with a great Chapel Service this morning. Sue Duffield led us in a sweet time of Praise and Worship. Then my dad, Bobby Carter, spoke about giving God our all. We have to become the offering and completely give ourselves to him. It was kind of sad to think that this was the last chapel service for BGMR 2011, but I can't wait for next year! At the beginning of the evening concert, a bunch of us got together and we did the Cha Cha Slide! It was so fun. A few friends and I jumped off the stage to grab people in the audience to come dance with us! Another funny moment was when a man won a free cruise, he completely freaked out! I laughed and laughed. It was great! During the afternoon session they had the Al Brumley Tribute. Mr. Brumley wrote some great classic songs like, Ill Fly Away; Ill Meet You In the Morning; and If We Never Meet Again. It was fun to watch and listen to all the great songs that Mr. Al Brumely Jr. and the choir sang. My family sang with The Greesons tonight. We sang a song that my dad wrote many years ago for our bass singer, and my Godfather, Jimmy Norton, who passed away in 2005. It definitely took me back, but it was great to sing it again! I cried during the finale tonight, I guess it was just an overwhelming feeling of "It's actually over". This week at Branson Gospel Music Revival has taught me many things. Number one, to cherish your friends and make the most of every moment you have with them. Number two; trust God in all your problems. Number three; I didn't get any guacamole this week! Sorry Josh, I had to throw a little funny in there. After the concert tonight, Dino and Cheryl Kartsonakis opened their brand new café for us. They are such awesome and sweet hosts. It was a perfect way to end an amazing week. I had the yummy Strawberry Cake. Their new café is located in the Landing and it is such a cool place. I definitely cant wait to visit there again. This has truly been a refreshing and encouraging week. For me, and I know many other people! I thank God for this event and the people He called to do it. I just want to say a special thanks to Josh Heston for asking me to write for him this week! I really appreciate the opportunity, and I hope I get to do it again! By Emma Carter |
